Text Area #1
The number of "Text Area" blocks is up to you. Use your imagination. What can you put in here? You might want to display a video, random pictures, specialty ads, links and more.
Text Area #2
Each "Text Area" has a Title and a paragraph for now; but even this can be changed or added to.
Text Area #3
For now, these blocks of text only appear on PAGES and not POSTS. What's the difference? Pages don't change very often; they are on the upper navigation bar/menu. Posts are the short articles that you write weekly or update regularly; they are on the lower navigation bar/menu. Many SEO (Search Engine Optimization) experts agree that keeping site content fresh helps to raise your Google ranking. Plan on adding content/posts often.
I have added more paragraphs to this "Text Area" so that you see how it works. Although changing a "Text Area" is not so easy as editing a Page or a Post, it doesn't require a PhD in literature.
As mentioned earlier, this information is not visible in the sidebar of Posts. Instead, the Post sidebar displays other little boxes called widgets. While most widgets are programmed for specific tasks, you can also have Text widgets which allow insertion of content just like a "Text Area". Changing the display order of Text widgets is only slightly easier than modifying a "Text Area" block.
